Kazu is a friend to Takato and both are in the same class. Usually he and Kenta, along with Takato, would all play with Digimon cards. He claims he knows everything there is to know, but that would soon change. After Takato got his Digimon, Kazu was jealous. After Calumon was mon napped and taken to the Digital World, Kazu was determined to go with the others so he could get a Digimon of his own. He does get in the way, but his dream comes true in Episode 31, "Kazu's Upgrade". An Andromon was having problems with Orochimon. He get's injured really bad and Kazu feels for him. They find a Gekomon village and they tell them that Orochimon has been forcing them to make Milkshakes for him. Kazu pleads for data packets from the milkshakes to heal Andromon. The Gekomon does so and Kazu heals Andromon, who then de-digivolves into Guardromon. A D-Power appears in front of Kazu and that was a sign that Guardromon was his partner. Kazu might not be the brightest kid on the block, but he does help out a bit with the others.

He may seem like a regular goof (well he actually IS) when with Kenta, but he means well. With Guardromon by his side, he's ready to help his friends in any way that he can, though sometimes he may just get in the way. Like the others he was sad when Guardromon had to return to the Digital World. Though he didn't get to spend as much time with his Digimon as he wanted, they still had a good venture with the time they did spend together. Andromon is first seen in Episode 31, Kazu's Upgrade. Guardromon is first seen in that same Episode.
